An exceptional world of exceptional chocolate
Cacao-Trace stands for quality, traceable, sustainable cocoa beans. Belcolade & Puratos’ sustainable cocoa sourcing programme focuses on better tasting chocolate, and in the process creates value for all, from farmer to consumer. The chocolate is obtained from the highest quality beans that are fermented and dried in post-harvest centres. The centres are close to cocoa farmers where expert fermenters monitor and improve the fermentation process. This ensures a consistent superior taste for chocolate lovers, and more income for farmers.
The better the beans, the better the chocolate
When it comes to flavour and taste, Cacao-Trace chocolate offers what other sustainable chocolate products often do not: Creating value through superior taste. This comes from the post-harvest fermentation process, and other factors such as soil, climate and the genetic variety of the bean. By creating value through improved taste and sharing that value back with our Cacao-Trace farmers, we improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmer communities and create a sustainable future.

Traceability
Controlled separation of Cacao-Trace cocoa from other cocoa beans throughout the supply chain – all the way from harvesting through to processing – guarantees the physical traceability of all Cacao-Trace chocolate. You can be confident that every delivery of Cacao-Trace cocoa beans is validated and registered and that by purchasing Cacao-Trace chocolate you are helping to improve the lives of cocoa farmers and their families.

An extra bonus for cocoa farmers
Cacao-Trace strives to improve the imbalance in profit-sharing throughout the value chain with a unique Chocolate Bonus, given on top of premium pricing.
When you buy Cacao-Trace chocolate products you and your customers are supporting the long-term supply of chocolate, while making a positive difference to the lives cocoa farmers.
For every kilo of chocolate purchased, Cacao-Trace pays a “Chocolate Bonus” of €0.10 back to cocoa farmers and their communities.
The distribution of the Chocolate Bonus is overseen by the Next Generation Cacao Foundation who manage community projects and ensure 100% of the bonus goes back to the farmer communities.
