March 24th marks a very important day in the ice cream calendar – Gelato Day.
Here's our take on this years flavour of the year Mantecado.
Mantecado
Mantecado uses a traditional vanilla cream as its base and features orange marbling and is topped with shavings of dark chocolate.
Ingredients4 Litres of white base |
MethodBlend the joypaste white vanilla into the white base. On extraction ripple in the joyfruit orange and dark chocolate shavings. |
Turron
Why not try another classic Spanish flavour Turron. Turron is a popular soft Spanish nougat made mostly from almonds which, when combined with Malaga wine (or sweet sherry), makes delicious gelato.
