These heart shaped biscuits are super easy to make. We have used a sour cherry jam, but they are easily adaptable to suit your taste, why not try a strawberry jam or lemon curd filling!  The perfect gift for Valentine's Day or as a sweet treat for yourself.

Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 8-10 mins | Serves: 16 complete dodgers (32 hearts size dependent) | Other: 1 hour chill time

Cookie dough


200g unsalted butter
200g caster sugar
400g plain flour
1 large egg

Icing sugar for dusting


Add all the ingredients to kitchen aid bowl with beater attachment and mix until all ingredients come together as a dough.

Knead the dough lightly with your hands then wrap tightly in cling film and place into the fridge to chill and rest for 1 hour.

Once rested, remove the dough from the fridge and on a lightly floured surface roll the dough until 4mm thick. 

Cut out an even number of heart shapes and a smaller heart in the middle of half of them. 

Bake in the oven at 160c for 8-10 minutes.

To serve

Once all the hearts are baked and cooled, place a small amount of sour cherry extra jam on one biscuit and place the cut out heart on top, dust with icing sugar and enjoy.
