Our food choices are regularly influenced by those of our friends over the Pond. From hot dogs to burgers, S’mores to Mississippi Mud Pie, American food culture has a huge impact here in the UK.

To help celebrate Thanksgiving - a national holiday in the States when Americans give thanks for the harvest which takes place on November 23 this year - we’ve created a delicious pecan pie gelato.

Ingredients

6 litres Irca ice cream white base mix

360g Joygelato toffee flavour paste

300g chopped pecans

Joycream smooth toffee variegato sauce

Method

Add the paste to the base mix and blend until smooth and there are no streaks of paste in the bucket.

Add the pecans and stir - blending will break the pieces up and you will lose the texture. Pour into the batch freezer and select your normal gelato program.

On extraction, place all of the mix into the pan and drizzle the Joycream toffee sauce over the top. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped pecans.
