Beef and peppercorn sauce

Made with two of the fantastic products from Essential Cuisine, this sauce takes very little time to prepare and cook.

ingredients

  • butter : 20g
  • shallots, finely chopped : 200g
  • fresh thyme : 1 sprig
  • bay leaves : 2
  • Essential Cuisine No1 beef gravy : 500ml
  • Essential Cuisine peppercorn sauce : 500ml
  • double cream : 60ml
  • Good twist of freshly ground pepper :
  • Sea salt, to your seasoning preference :

method

  • Melt the butter in a suitable pan and add the chopped shallots, thyme and bay leaves.
  • Fry gently until tender, with not too much colour.
  • Pour in the Essential Cuisine No1 beef gravy, Essential Cuisine peppercorn sauce and the cream.
  • Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes, to coating consistency.
  • Remove bay leaves and thyme.
  • Finally season to your taste, your beef and peppercorn sauce is now ready to serve, with grilled steak and garnish.
